Home Remedies for Acidity


The acid secreted by the stomach which helps in digestion of foods, when produced in excess amount by the gastric glands results in acidity. The common symptoms of acidity are dyspepsia, heartburn and ulcer.

 

Following are some home remedies for acidity:–

 

The most popular remedy for acidity is mint. It is advised to chew eight to ten mint leaves in the morning time without consuming anything else. The daily intake of mint leaves on the regular basis for one complete month will surely solve the problem.

 

To solve the problem immediately, add a pinch of baking soda in a glass of warm water and gulp it down. It will bring immediate relief.

 

Lemon juice is another effective remedy to treat the problem of acidity. Mix lemon juice in lukewarm water and have it twice or thrice a day. Try having it before your meal for the good results.

 

Add salad to every meal. Cucumber and watermelon should be necessary ingredient. Both cools the digestive system and helps in the treatment of acidity.

 

The consumption of seven-to-eight basil leaves i.e. tulsi in the morning also helps in the consumption of basil leaves. Regular intake till one week will make the result visible.

Add yoghurt in the diet on the daily basis.

 

Mix three teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in one glass of water and consume it at once for fast relief.

 

For long term benefit, add roasted cumin seeds in one glass of fresh orange juice. Continue this drink for a week and get the long term benefits.

 

For quick relief, take ginger and coriander in equal proportion and chew them. Swallow them and feel the immediate relief from acidity problem.

 

Coconut water is also effective in acidity. Have it in empty stomach and get the overall benefit to keep your body healthy.

 

Avoid spicy foods, over-eating, skipping meals or keeping the stomach for longer time, stress, sitting for longer period, consumption of alcohol, intake of caffeine and tobacco. Start doing physical activities and take enough sleep.

 

Chew cloves.

 

Replace tea and coffee with herbal one.

 

Boil cumin seeds in a glass of water. Filter it and drink after each meal.

 

Try drinking butter milk with one tablespoon of coriander leaves juice.

 

Have your dinner two-three hours before going to bed.

 

Make a fine powder consisting of ginger, black pepper; dries mint leaves, hing, anise seeds, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fennel and common Salt in equal proportion. Take one teaspoon with water twice a day after the meals
