Bad breath home remedies
Since the time immemorial the problem of bad breath has been perceived. Greeks used to rinse their mouth with white wine, anise seeds myrrh while Italians used mouthwash of sage, cinnamon, juniper seeds, root of cypress and rosemary leaves.
Following are given some remedies to keep you away from bad breath:–
Brush at least twice a day. Floss once in a day to remove the foods particles and bacteria that are trapped in between the tooth. These trapped food particles smells awful.
Keep your tongue clean. After brush, clean your tongue to wipe out bacteria left on its surface.
Do not sleep with your dentures. Dip them in the water or if any solution provided and take it out in the morning. This will help in complete cleansing of the dentures.
Saliva due to its antibacterial action helps in cleaning the mouth. Sugarless mints help in stimulating the flow the saliva. The less flow of saliva at nights are the reason for bad breath when one wake up in the morning.
Stress dry out the mouth which causes bad breath.
The sulphur containing foods such as garlic and onions cause smell. Certain seaweed fish have amine odours. Avoid these foods.
Mix tarragon in a glass of hot water. Leave this solution for about 20 minutes and then gargle. It can be repeated 5-6 times in a day.
Mix one tablespoon of peppermint in half liters of boiled water. Leave it for an hour and gargle with this solution 4-5 times in a day.
Mix 20 gm of alder leaves in half liter of boiling water. Gargle with this solution 4-6 times a day on a regular basis.
Grate herb birch leaves, chamomile flowers, bark of oak grass and prepare tea and drink it regularly.
Mix 15 caraway seeds in a glass of boiled water. Gargle with this solution. Repeat this 4-5 times a day.
Mix one teaspoon of roots of mustard plaster and mix it in a glass of boil water. Leave it for five minutes. Use it for gargling.
Avoid coffee, bear, wine and whiskey and add lots of water.
Have your at a regular interval of time. Do not skip the meal. Empty stomach causes bad breath.
Chew mint leaves.
Dissolve baking soda or lemon in warm water. Gargle with this solution.
Add fenugreek seeds in a tea. Have it.
For fresh breath chew cardamom seeds.
Foods rich in zinc check the growth of anaerobic bacteria in the mouth.
Have a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with water before each meal. It helps in the digestion.
