High Blood Pressure Home Remedies

 

High blood pressure is often termed as silent killer. It is the pressure of the blood in arteries. It has no obvious symptoms to mention. Overweight, sedentary lifestyle, high consumption of salty foods, alcohol and smoking are considered to be the chief reasons for high blood pressure.

 

Below is given the home remedies to control the high blood pressure in very effective way:–

 

Strictly follow a diet chart which is low in saturated fat, cholesterol and total fat to reduce the level of blood pressure. Include fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy products. Also, include whole grain products and fish (much beneficial) and restrict the intake of meats, sweets and sugary beverages.

 

Reducing the amount of salt in food will surely help in controlling or lowering the level of blood pressure.

 

Potassium is said to be good in high blood pressure. But do not run after potassium supplements rather go for banana, orange, potato, tomato and milk. Also, dry fruits can be added such as apricots. But do consult your doctor if you have any problem in kidney.

 

Increase the intake of calcium. Research studies shows that extra intake of calcium can actually lower the blood pressure. Rely on calcium rich foods rather than calcium supplements.

 

Raw garlic has the ability to control blood pressure. Have two cloves of garlic everyday in the morning with water. For better results, eat it in empty stomach.

 

Consume the leaves of fenugreek or coriander in one glass of water.

 

Mix one teaspoon of honey, one teaspoon of ginger juice and one teaspoon of powder of cumin seeds. Have this mixture twice a day to get effective results.

 

Boil the curry leaves in a glass of water. To add some taste, one can add lime juice to it.

 

Mix the powder of melon seeds and poppy seeds in equal proportion. Store it and consume it one teaspoon with water in the morning and evening.

 

Mix two parts of orange juice with one part of coconut water. Its beneficial when taken at least thrice a day.

 

Reduce stress as much as you can.

 

Drink plenty of water.

 

Limit the intake caffeine.

 

Vegetarians are less susceptible to high blood pressure than no-vegetarians. So, include leafy vegetables that will also help in controlling the weight. Broccoli, a vegetable high in fiber helps in reducing the blood pressure and blood cholesterol level.

 

Start aerobic activities such as walking, jogging, swimming, stair-climbing, bicycling, skating and many others. Practice deep breathing.

 

Quit smoking and cut down the consumption of alcohol.
