Balanced diet helps in keeping the body healthy. Diet consists of low in saturated fat, cholesterol and total fat and inclusion of fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy foods is good for health. Whole-grain products, fish, poultry and nuts are also good in hypertension.
Diet rich in magnesium, potassium, calcium, protein and fiber is a proved combination for lowering down the blood pressure.
Reduce the consumption of salt. It helps in lowering down the blood pressure.
Potassium is good for body and beneficial for people suffering from hypertension. Banana, oranges, potatoes, tomatoes and milk should be included in the diet.
Increase the intake of calcium. Getting extra calcium helps in lowering down the blood pressure. Opt for calcium rich foods instead of its supplements.
Garlic is capable of lowering down the blood pressure. Moreover, it tastes good when you are cutting down the consumption of salt.
Vegetarians are less likely to have high blood pressure than non-vegetarians. Increase the amount of fruits and vegetables. It will also help in losing weight and hence reduces development of many other diseases.
