Home Remedies for Irregular Periods
Periods are regular if they occur within a regular interval of 28 days in a month. However, depending upon hormones the duration of interval may vary accordingly in each case. Irregular periods include many cases such as late or early period, missed periods, continuous periods or periods twice in a cycle. Other symptoms are headache, dizziness, lower abdomen pain, nausea, vomiting and fainting, blood clotting and such others.
Following are some of the home remedies for irregular periods which can really help:-
Bitter gourd is said to be very effective in bringing the periods back to normal state. Have a glass of it twice a day.
Mixture of cumin seeds, sesame seeds with honey is said to treat this problem effectively.
Aloe vera juice helps in initiating the skipped periods. Eating pulp of it can also help.
Grape juice is much beneficial in treating irregular periods. Have it at least twice a day to cure the problem.
Regular consumption of carrot juice is said to solve this problem. Eat raw carrot.
Unripe green papaya helps in normalizing the periods. Prepare a salty vegetable or just eat boiled.
Mix ginger with honey and have it.
Avoid smoking and cut down the consumption of alcohol. This will help in curing many problems.
Avoid eating spicy and fried foods. Avoid chocolates too.
Include protein and iron rich foods in the diet.
Fennel seeds (saunf) and fenugreek seeds (methi) can also help in regular periods.
Boil the roots of banyan tree and have it with a glass of milk before going to bed.
Cinnamon tea can help in reducing the pain during periods.
Leaves of bamboo are helpful in regularizing the periods.
Drink the juice of sugarcane a week before the date of periods. It will help in getting the periods early.
Take healthy diet i.e. a diet rich in whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds and fish oil. Healthy diet will trigger hormonal imbalances and hence the problem will be addressed too.
Reduce stress, if you cannot stop it.
Exercise is good for body and does not over exercise. Moderate exercise like jogging for 30 minutes per day is recommended for girls.
Contraceptive pills are not much suggested. After stopping the intake of pills, the absence of periods for several months is common.
Do not skip meals. Missing meals can lead to irregular periods. Never skip breakfast.
Soak the bark of neem tree in the night. Filter out this liquid and consume thrice a day to regularize the periods.
The juice of bitter gourd can also help in solving the problem.
