Home remedies for Sinus

The common symptoms of sinus are headache, stuffy nose and frequent infections. Once you get it, be prepare to get it again in future. It is better and safe to follow some home remedies tips to cure sinus, as it will have no ill-effects.

 

Following are given some of the home remedies which you can give a try:–

 

Boil a jug of water and place it into cooking pot. Cover your head with a towel or any cotton cloth and lean over the pot. Take the steam. Repeat this twice a day.

 

Try avoiding sugar or sugary products.

 

Keep your head elevated while sleeping.

 

Use any hot or warm headscarf to have a sound sleep.

 

Drink the garlic juice as it works on the entire system and helps in dissolving the accumulation of mucus in the sinus cavities.

 

Avoid dairy products as much as possible.

 

Place the chopped three cloves of garlic in 40 drops of water. Leave it for 15 minutes to let water absorb the oil from garlic. Put 20 drops in each nostril. It will immediately provide relief.

 

Vitamin C helps in treating the sinus. So, start including in the diet in the form of fruits and vegetables.

 

Boil fenugreek seeds in a cup of water. Drink it warm. It helps in complete cure of sinus.

 

Tie a teaspoon of cumin seeds in a cloth and place it into pot containing hot water. Inhale it.

 

Eat the mixture of basil leaves and honey.

 

Include raw onion and garlic in the meals.

 

Roast cumin seeds and mix it well with pure ghee. The proportion should be 1:2 respectively. Eat it every day. This is considered to be most effective remedy in curing sinus.

 

Avoid cold and oily foods.

 

Drink ginger or cinnamon tea to have relief in sinus.

 

The antiseptic properties of eucalyptus help in clearing the block passage. Inhale it with boiled water or use it in tea.

 

Prefer environment that is not too dry and not too humid.

 

Foods rich in antioxidants help in building the immunity system of the body and hence prevent infections. It includes blueberries, artichokes, red beans, cranberries and pomegranates.

 

Peppermint helps in calming the mucus membrane. Take it as steam or you may prepare peppermint tea. The anti-inflammatory properties and smell of peppermint helps to ease the breathing.

 

Lemon is also very much effective in fighting off the bacteria and viruses. Boil the dried leaves of lemon in water. Use it for gargle for drinking the warm tea.
